Elizabeth Marie (or Ellie Mae which is a new nick name) is now 3 months old. She is getting bigger and stronger everyday! As you can tell from these pictures, she is such a smiley/happy baby too. She absolutely loves to have conversations (she coos and giggles during these) and have girl time with Mommy (we gossip). Her big brother LOVES to help out. This past week, he has been into feeding her, pushing the swing, rocking her car carrier, and making sure she has her bink at ALL times. The best thing to happen this past month is that she is totally sleeping through the night. My goal was to have her get comfortable with her crib and sleep through the night before Christmas, and that we did, my friends, that. we. did! At this age, Will always ate at 8 pm, then at midnight and would sleep until 8 am everyday. Well, we tried that with Ellie and it didn't matter to her, she would wake up at 4 am exactly demanding she gets a bottle. So we decided to cut out that midnight feeding right away and see where that would take us. First night, she went from 8 pm to 3 am. Second night, 8 pm to 4 am. After a few nights, she was averaging a 5 am bottle. And then on Thanksgiving, she went 10 1/2 hours (Mommy & Daddy were VERY thankful for that)! So to all my friends/young moms who are reading this, I highly recommend "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". I read this book for Will and applied Dr. Weissbluth's techniques with some of my own and Will was sleeping 12 hours a night at 31/2 months. I wasn't sure how much it was the book or if we had the best baby ever, but we applied the same steps/routines with Ellie and she is averaging 8-9 hours a night which is EXACTLY what Will was averaging at this age. :)
